Blue Flame Certification Joins TrustMark as Scheme Provider

Blue Flame Certification is the latest organisation to become a TrustMark Scheme Provider.

TrustMark CEO, Simon Ayers commented:

“All TrustMark Scheme Providers are organisations consumers can depend on for quality across all sectors.  As TrustMark evolves to fulfil its new role as all-encompassing mark of quality for consumers requiring work in or around their homes, it’s important we have robust and varied Scheme Providers.

“Blue Flame Certification is a certification body covering the Gas, Oil, Electrical, Solid Fuel, Building Services, Renewable Technologies and Building Energy Efficiency fields, and so will be invaluable in our efforts to improve the energy efficiency of housing stock and tackle fuel poverty.”

Andy Durber, Blue Flame Director, commented:

“We consider being a TrustMark Scheme Provider a thoroughly positive step.  Delivering excellence in building services and energy conservation is central to Blue Flame’s vision and in this we are clearly aligned with TrustMark’s purpose.”

Blue Flame Certification is the first body to be brought into TrustMark under the new Framework Operating Requirements (as opposed to the outgoing Core Criteria).  This document governs how Scheme Providers and their associate members will behave and all Scheme Providers are transitioning to meet the requirements that will offer a higher level of consumer protection.

As the incoming regulations concerning the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) are formalised by Parliament this summer, schemes such as Blue Flame which enable access to this funding will be more relevant than ever.  TrustMark looks forward to working alongside Blue Flame to bring a wider range of tradespeople to consumers, whilst ensuring a level playing field of quality.
